Do you love loose leaf tea?
Well, we do! Especially Eastern Gong Fu style of brewing tea and we want to introduce you to this beautiful tasting tea experience.
Our mission is to be part of your journey towards exploring fine loose-leaf tea, and the Eastern Gong Fu style of brewing tea. We will talk about the importance of various aroma and tasting notes, the origin of the tea, and types of tea. Our hope is that you will find our tea session as a means of not only learning about various teas, but also the art of how Taoist mindfulness can be part of your tea experience. Our vendors work with individual tea farmers and are conscientious and transparent about their process of fairness and providing quality tea products.
We have four guided sessions planned so far. Each class will fully participate in learning and practicing the Gong Fu style of brewing tea. Each session will cost 25 dollars and extra tea will be available to purchase to take home if you desire.

Welcome to Lunar Teas
Session One-
Explore one of four DanCong Teas. Dancing belongs to one of many Oolong teas. Our session will be a 2022 Ya Chi Dancing crafted by Huang Rui Huang. This tea has an interesting history and is one of the most prized teas from the Guangdong Province. This is a beautiful tea rich in natural aroma and taste.
Session Two-
Welcome to the world of Aged White Tea and collaboration with The Chive Cafe' who will be pairing fresh made pastries with our tea. In this session we will be brewing and practicing our tasting notes on a 2016 Reserve Shou Mei White Tea Cake. This white tea is from Fugian, China and highlights the wild arbor of Shou Mei. This is an exceptional White Tea rich in flavor, aroma, and energy. It is a reserve tea, so you will be experiencing a rare cake. Though many aged white teas can be found, I think you will enjoy everything about the beauty of this tea.
Session Three-
Who is up for some fresh green tea! We are currently waiting for the Spring 2023 teas to be picked, processed and shipped to our vendor. Most likely we will be tasting at least two different green teas and enjoying them early in the season. Watch our instagram (lunar.teas) and Facebook (Lunar Teas), in May for the green teas we choose. I think you will like our choices, so go ahead and sign up!
Session Four-
In this session we will dive into the realm of PueRh. Meet Juice Journo, a raw Da Shy Bulling PueRh. This tea comes from the old growth trees, a Bulling PeuRh with notes of palm sugar, blackcurrant jam, sherbet and sweet minerals. A favorite tea of many and comes from Bulling, Yunnan, China. There's a fun twist to this tea for those that attend!
Explanation of cost per session-
We have ten Gonfu tasting stations per session. Each station can accommodate up to two people who wish to "share" a station which includes tea ware. Due to covid and flu season, we suggest you only share a station with someone you know and are both prepared to handle tea ware. Otherwise, one per station.

$15.00 per students with a valid school identification card

How to pay-
